About Our School
The word “school” itself carries much significance in our lives. In earlier ages, ‘gurukul’ was the place where education was imparted to pupils by their gurus. At present, that temple of learning has emerged as the ‘SCHOOL’. In the year 2015, the Vedanta academy was established under “Vijay Bahadur Singh memorial charitable trust (V.B.S.M.C.T.) with an aim of providing a holistic education to the students. With time, it has successfully emerged into one amongst the 10 best schools in Kolkata.

This co-educational English medium school was established as a result of the inspiration of Sri Vijay Bahadur Singh who was by profession a high court advocate. He was also a great patron of education. Since 1970, he founded many schools in various places including Naihati and Jagatdal, for the poverty stricken people who could not afford good education for their children. Mr. Vijay Bahadur Singh expired in 2004 leaving behind a huge vacuum in our hearts. Mr. Vijay Bahadur Singh left his able son, Mr. Viplov Kumar Singh, a businessman and entrepreneur by profession, to carry the legacy forward.
